Hello people of Fable Rose, I am Gueritestje and I will your executioner today... OK maybe not. But you did pick the hawker class which is good. Now what? Well you kill things and gain them exps. Once you reach level 100, you can become either a Raider or a Scout. In this guide I'll focus on the scout. Keep in mind that you have to buy arrows to use with your bow. Making this one of the more expensive classes to play and level.
The Class - What is pew pew?
The scout is a ranged single target nuke. That's right, single target, no AoE. But fear not, we attack further away then almost anyone, and we hit hard. We have a variety of crowd control and we even have a pet bird! Our primary stat is Dexterity (DEX), with secondary in Concentration (CON) and Sense (SEN). You might be asking yourself why these stats? Well DEX is the second biggest source of attack power (AP) that we can get from stats. CON will help us not miss as much thus saving us money, and finally SEN will help us crit more often. We have higher mid tier defense, and OK magic defense naturally. Our biggest strength is we can attack fast and move faster. By quickly getting in and out we can be a force to be reckoned with in combat.
STATS - What do they do for you?
Stats that mean the most to us are the following DEX, CON, SEN, AP, Attack Speed, Dodge Rate, Accuracy, and finally Movement Speed
Why these and not others? Well voice in my head DEX gives you the most attack power at 0.8 rating per point, speeds up your movement, increases dodge chance at 1 rating per point, and just makes you hit harder in the long run. CON is 1 accuracy and a little bit of AP per point which helps you not only hit harder, not miss as much which saves you time and money. Remember you have to buy the arrows, also increases crit rate slightly. SEN will help you crit more often at 1 rating per point, roughly doubling your damage output. It also gives us .1 AP per point, and .2 accuracy per point. Could be more damage if you get lucky. Attack Power if just a good stat also our biggest attack power gain. Doesn't do as much as DEX, but will help you kill things quickly and makes your crits bigger. Accuracy is the same as CON, but it's a buff and a passive that's why I'm mentioning it separately. Attack Speed means you attack faster thus more damage. Dodge Rate means you dodge more often, and Movement Speed means you move faster. In some cases you can move faster then a cart.
What I would do is try to get equipment with either DEX or AP. As these things will give you the most direct benefit. Attack Speed isn't a bad choice, but this is mostly covered in a buff. While you hit faster you do less damage per shot or skill. It's a trade off, get stuff with this stat however I wouldn't go crazy over it. Dodge, Accuracy, and Movement Speed are all very low in terms of what we want. I would avoid these where I can. That said a good set of wings will go along way to help you out and they most commonly have Movement Speed on them.
Builds - This thing is hard man, tell me how to put stuff in things
While there are hundreds of possible builds for your character. I will focus on three here. these three are the ones I see most commonly. While they may or may not be the absolute best. They'll serve you well.
Build 1: High DEX, Mid CON, Little SEN (Recommended for 1st reborn leveling)
This build focuses on having a high amount of DEX to hit as hard as we can. This will also allow you to equip all the bows in the game once you are of level. Getting CON which I recommend roughly half of your DEX stat will help you not miss as much, and SEN will help you crit more often. While SEN isn't 100% needed you could do worse things with your points, get some it's good. While playing this build, you will need to be very mindful of your arrow count. No arrows, means you are dead in damage.
Build 2: Mixed DEX/CON, Little SEN
This build focuses on having a good mix of DEX and CON. I would go with roughly equal until level 100, then focus more on DEX While you will miss less often then with any other build almost, your damage will be lower then those using build 1. You may also run into issues as you try to get new bows to use. You can solve this a little bit by equipping gear with more AP or DEX on it. While DEX will help you with your bows, attack power won't do anything but increase your damage. You will need to be mindful of your arrow count you should have plenty to kill everything.
Build 3: Little DEX, Mid CON, High SEN
This build focuses on having high amounts of crits to kill things very quickly while having just enough DEX to equip new bows and enough CON to not miss very often. I would keep SEN roughly double DEX and CON 1/4 roughly that of your SEN. The major problem with this build is... you don't crit you do less damage then you would normally. You will miss some wasting arrows and possible crits which could lead to your doom. I really dislike this build, while if you are lucky you can be really fast. If you aren't well you might be less effective then a person going with a more standard build.
Skill Builds - Books? Why do I have to read?
While leveling up you will get skill points to use to learn and level up skills. While the exact build to use can be changed around. I'll go over my build just as an example.
First thing I do is max out my bow skill for the hawker class. This will increase the amount of damage my bow does by a fair margin.
Second I will learn and level out my buffs, you have 4 class buffs that can only be placed on yourself. These will increase your attack power, your accuracy, crit, attack speed, and movement speed.
Thrid I would start learning passive skills. Most useful is the backpack. This will allow you to carry more weight on you. Normally meaning more arrows.
Fourth I learn most of my active skills. I leave these for last as I just don't find them to be that powerful while I am leveling, you might want to move these up if you run into some trouble.
NOW FOR SCOUT SKILLS
First max out your new bow passive. Again your bow is more powerful, so you are more powerful.
Second get your hawk... This is a pet that will help you fight. While it's not as strong as you are damage wise. It's all gravy. It can also act like a pseudo tank for you, taking a couple hits while you get into position
Third you will want to get the accuracy passive. As this will save money as you will hit more often
Lastly the remaining active skills. You can get pretty close getting everything maxed out by the time you are 230 so don't stress to much
Reborns - I live again?
Once you have reached level 230 you can reborn. So type /reborn to do so. This will bring back down to level 1, but on the upside you get to keep your gear that you have. So you are stronger then a normal level 1. So go level again, but things change slightly. The following is just an example and is what I did with mine.
1st time leveling - I followed build 1 listed here in the guide.
1st reborn - I went heavy into SEN to get my crit up, love them crits.
2nd reborn - Capped DEX and CON, went into Strength (more health and defense) but could easily go into SEN
3rd reborn - Capped STR. Almost finished SEN
4th reborn - Cap SEN, put points into INT for magic def or charm for more drops
5th reborn - Cap the stat started in your last reborn, in my case INT.
